New Grants

Application Guidelines for New Grantees

If you are applying for a new grant from Moriah, meaning you have not received funding from Moriah within the last two years and have been invited to apply, please follow the application guidelines below.


General Support Requests

Proposal Narrative

  • Description of the history, purpose and goals of the organization, major programs, key accomplishments in the past three years, and the qualifications of the organization for this work
  • Description of the activities for which funding is requested, including specific goals, plan(s) of action, and / or timeline. Also include anticipated outcomes for major projects, and how projects will be evaluated

Financial Information

  • Current organization budget
  • List of top five committed institutional funders, including the corresponding amounts and whether each grant is restricted or unrestricted.
  • A completed Days of Cash on Hand report (template is provided in the application portal)
  • Three most recent audits (if available) including management letter.
  • Revenue and expense statements for the organization for the year in which requested funds will be used.

Other Information

  • List of key staff and all members of the Board of Directors with their affiliations.

Project Grants

Proposal Narrative

  • The history, purpose and goals of the organization, and recent and anticipated accomplishments.
  • Description of the project or activity for which funding is requested as well as its context within the organization.
  • Specific goals, plan of action and timeline.
  • Qualifications of the organization for this project, including information about key staff of the organization and the project.
  • Long-term project plans, including future financing if applicable (if the grant is to support a short term project, skip this question).
